static ip for slackware

all linux setting for static ip wrote that the configuration is in /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1
but i found it in my slackware 12.1 the configuration is in /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1.conf
while the rc.inet1 is the script which run the command.

it’s quite simpe to set the ip to static. just fill in the empty area of your eth configuration.
IPADDR(0)=”192.168.x.x”
NETMASK[0]=”255.255.255.0″
USE_DHCP[0]=””
DHCP_HOSTNAME[0]=””

and rite in the middle of these setting, there is one more
GATEWAY=”192.168.1.1″ #u can fill this thing too. in my experience, if this leave empty, the internet wont run in static ip mode. i dont understand that.

anyway that’s all
