nvidia 7200gs in ubuntu with the projector lcd

first i bought this nvidia 73200gs pcie coz its price quite cheap and u know the ati nvidia is famous. but now we have to install this product into my ubuntu 8.04. as we know the ubuntu actually support nvidia driver with nv code in its xorg.conf.
it was work well. but when i plug the 2nd digital output to projector, the resolution change. it wont stay in high resolution. i wasnt satisfied with this so i browse and look for its driver in nvidia.com. i found the nvidia 7 series NVIDIA-Linux-x86-177.80-pkg1.run as the latest driver.

after installation with sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-177.08-pkg1.run the hardy heron still the same. in fact it rejected the nvidia driver. hardy always return to vesa coz it said something error in low resolution and it’s not supported to the graphic card. i’ve read somewhere about some couple manage to install its graphic card in their hardy and they used the NVIDIA-Linux-x86-173.08-pkg1.run driver. i tried to look for it and install them. but still no work.
some commands i have tried like nvidia-setting or displayconfig-gtk but nothing.

then i heard that the ubuntu 8.10 released. than i make a gamble thing to update my ubuntu. and yes after i updated it, NVIDIA-Linux-x86-177.80-pkg1.run installed well. and when i clicked nvidia-setting in the console or in the aplication menu, it worked. the setting can manage two monitor. so my projector on with high resolution and also my monitor.
it seem ubuntu 8.10 has a good improvement to the dual monitor setting. thanks for them.
