I have ion notebook that using sis 771/671 chipset that I want Ubuntu studio installed in it. The driver for this vga becomes such a challenge. Since I m gonna using studio software that really-really needs the power of vga. Minimum using the right driver so it will come with the right color.
But sis needs some extra file outside the ubuntu studio 9.04 that I have as a driver. What I need is two file extra as a driver.
I already have the files needed for it. You may download it below.
xorg-driver-sis671_0.9_i386
sisctrl-0.0.20051202_x86_64
Installed both file with dpkg
$sudo dpkg -i *.deb
Reboot your Ubuntu and the driver will be used automatically.
