I bought this printer last year, still working good now. Well maybe I just use it at home. I also installed slackware 13.1 in my laptop that connected to this printer. Using standard cups 1.4.3 the driver perfectly matched.
The driver I got from canon-asia.com is the version of 3.30 or cnijfilter-ip2700series-3.30-1-i386-rpm.tar.gz. Download it from canon or from here, safe time. Or you may need driver for ubuntu cnijfilter-ip2700series-3.30-1-i386-deb.tar.gz.
Download it. Extract the file.
#tar xvfz cnijfilter-ip2700series-3.30-1-i386-rpm.tar.gz
Go to rpm folder
#cd cnijfilter-ip2700series-3.30-1-i386-rpm/packages
Change the rpm to tgz so slackware can easily install them, but do it as root
#rpm2tgz *.rpm
Install them (as root)
#installpkg *.tgz
Now go to firefox or something similar. Type localhost:631 in the address bar.
Go to Administration, add printer and that’s it. The driver list automatically displayed at the front.
That’s all, try to print test page.
