ripping protected movie to avi using mplayer

tech planet property

This way is forbidden if your will is to copy for business use. Me? I just want to preserve the original cd and copy its into computer so I can play it many time without damaging the cd. Make sense? Of course.
We using mplayer to do it

mplayer vcd://2 -dumpstream -dumpfile movie.avi
vcd://2 is the track number
mplayer dvd://2 -dumpstream -dumpfile movie.avi

I just copy the vcd/dvd that write protected. We can use k3b to copy the whole track into new cd or into iso file. But hey it is not satisfying. Sometime we need to divide it into many part. So the stream copy is useful.
